Hi! My name is Atif and I’m a landscape, astro, nature, and wildlife photographer. I love exploring the outdoors and traveling with my camera. There’s so much beauty in our world to discover and I believe it’s important for me to share my experience with anyone who appreciates that because it’s a blessing. I hope to help open the hearts and eyes of others to the value in caring for our surroundings. Whether it’s visiting a national park, feeding some local birds, petting a dog, or composting your food scraps, every little bit benefits the nature that surrounds us.
My introduction to photography was technically using the camera on my phone lol. I always had an appreciation for beauty and art, but I hadn’t really created any myself. During the COVID lockdown era I was working in EMS. On my days off I’d pretty much ignore all the lockdown precaution stuff and went for daily walks and hikes with my family at parks. I gained a greater appreciation for all the little cool things in nature like mushrooms. We even set a goal to eventually visit every state park in Virginia (we did like half of them during COVID and slowed down after that).
In 2022, I made the spontaneous decision to buy a drone just because I thought it would be cool to bring on a month long trip to Pakistan and Turkey. I ended up getting a ton of amazing pics and hours of drone footage, but I was anti-social media at the time so that all remained sitting on a hard drive for only my eyes to see (I still have hours of raw drone footage I’ll eventually make a video with).
I went on a family trip to Acadia National Park in 2024 since we still had a bit of an addiction to hiking. During this trip, we read that the sky in some parts of the park would be dark enough to view the Milky Way. We grabbed our phones and after adjusting some settings we got some pretty decent exposures of the Milky Way. In 2025, I planned a trip to visit Acadia again, except this time with two of my friends from college Jared and Wagnus. Right before this trip I bought a Sony A7 IV and some fast, wide lenses hoping to capture some cool shots of the Milky Way. Unfortunately, it was cloudy every night of our trip. However, I did get some pretty cool landscape shots with my camera and my drone during the daytime. I’ve been hooked on photography ever since then.
I broadened my work from only landscape and astro to now having a strong interest in nature and wildlife photography as well. I’m sure my photography will continue to evolve as I learn about more techniques and editing. I hope you enjoy the images I’ve created over the last couple years along with everything still to come!
